The cold,hard facts!
Okay girls, what do we want in a ring?
1) THE BIGGER THE BETTER
C'mon...face it, we don't really care about the 4 C's.We'll take that flawed BIG rock over the perfect puny one anyday!
I know...jewellers will tell you that the flawless stone is more valuable... but... to who? We want to show off a rock, we want it to be bigger than our sisters. Men judge a man's prowess by the size of his, ahem, feet...but women judge a man by the size of the engagement ring on his girlfriends finger! Admit it...you know it's true. 2) WE DON'T WANT TO WAIT UNTIL YOU CAN AFFORD IT
Really, we don't. We want it and we want it now!! As soon as men start talking about "becoming engaged", sometime in the future just isn't good enough. We want to prove it, and only a ring will do. Go into debt, borrow the money from your folks, do what ever you have to...but don't tease us with those little "promise rings". We want the real thing. 3) MAKE SURE THAT IT WILL FIT
Once you give it to us we are not going to give it back! Make sure that you have done your homework and know our ring size.
There is no way that you will be able to pry it out of our hands to have it sized. The last thing that we want to do is return it...afterall we've earned it.
4) WHERE AND HOW YOU GIVE IT TO US
This is a story that we will be reliving for the rest of our lives, so make sure it's a good one. Proposing at the car wash is a no-no...our editors actually saw this on a wedding show on the Life network. Take us out to dinner, bring flowers, champagne, and get down on bended knee. You can be creative, kooky, or romantic, but for heavens sake don't be mundane. Otherwise we might have to make something up.
