 Whether you and your groom compose your own poem or prayer to accompany your vows, or choose a verse from another source, a brief reading can express the special thoughts that you wish to share with your guests. Secular readings can be poetry, lyrics of a song that you both enjoy, inspirational prose or quotes from novels or plays. If you are being married in a House of Worship you should check with your clergy member for approval and suggestions before entering any readings into your program. Sometimes even religious readings must be approved as even scripture can have many translations.
