Michelene and David...The Writing on the wall.

The proposal... It's the precursor of EVERYTHING to come. I was watching "The Runaway Bride" recently and the Julia Roberts character, Maggie, was telling the story of some of her MANY proposals. There was her 3rd fiance, the entomologist who put the ring into a cocoon while at the butterfly conservatory, and her fourth, the sports fan who proposed to her via the scoreboard at 'the big game'.

From the time we are little girls, we all dream of that special man who will ride up on a white horse and sweep us off of our feet. When we get a little bit older, our romantic notions expand to ponder the specifics. And one of those very special 'specifics' is the proposal. We all want our man to be more clever and romantic than everyone else's. That, of course, is why we are with HIM in the first place!

" We live in the Dallas area.  My boyfriend's family lives in Oklahoma, and was down for a visit.  We took them out to dinner and fun at neat area of town called "The West End".  We went to dinner at a placed called The Cadillac Café.  This place is known for using permanent markers to write all over the walls.  After leaving our "Mark" we sat back down with his family and he asked to see my hand...not having ANY idea what he was up to he  wrote...  "I Love U...David"  He then asked for my left hand and said to close my eyes.  On my left hand he wrote...    "Will U marry me" and drew two check boxes...one for "Yes" and one for "No".  I was soooooooo surprised!  But delighted of course!  He pointed the marker in my direction,
smiled and awaited my reply.  I of course checked the "Yes" box.  Everyone was very happy for us.  His sister declared the moment by writing on the wall behind our table stating that we were engaged there on 3-31-2000 and put a nice frame around it.  We took pictures standing by it.  He had no ring at the moment of engagement.  After dinner we went to listen to some live music outside on the streets of the West End.  The band announced our engagement and played a song for us to dance.  Shortly after there was a guy there making balloons.  David went over and had him make me a "diamond ring".  It was sooooo cool!  He came back and put it on me!  The whole
evening and proposal was one of a kind...just as David is!  It
was Wonderful!!"

We wish Michelene and David a lifetime of love and joy, it's a certainty that Michelene can continue to expect surprises!  So, how did it happen for you? Was he nervous? Was he creative? Was he predictable, but sweet? We'd love to hear YOUR story, and perhaps even feature it as our "Proposal of the Month." Send us the story of your proposal to bridalzine@hugkiss.com.  And don't forget, if he HASN'T popped the question to you yet, or if you have a friend, brother, son, nephew, cousin etc., looking to get engaged sometime in the future, send him here to "get inspired and get creative!"
