BridalZine presents.....Michele & Brent

One of the best stories that I have heard is that of my friend, Michele. She was even lucky enough to have someone capture the moment on film to keep forever. (And, of course, to make all of her friends green with envy, since her proposal was one of those clever & romantic ones that we love to hear about!)

The proposal... It's the precursor of EVERYTHING to come. I was watching "The Runaway Bride" recently and the Julia Roberts character, Maggie, was telling the story of some of her MANY proposals. There was her 3rd fiance, the entomologist who put the ring into a cocoon while at the butterfly conservatory, and her fourth, the sports fan who proposed to her via the scoreboard at 'the big game'.

From the time we are little girls, we all dream of that special man who will ride up on a white horse and sweep us off of our feet. When we get a little bit older, our romantic notions expand to ponder the specifics. And one of those very special 'specifics' is the proposal. We all want our man to be more clever and romantic than everyone else's. That, of course, is why we are with HIM in the first place!

Michele and Brent had been dating for about 2 years when they decided to plan a winter getaway to Hawaii. They spent weeks planning how they would spend their time, and Michele was thrilled when Brent gave her tickets for a romantic helicopter ride to see the Islands.
When it was time for them to take their helicopter tour, it was right around Valentine's Day, and the trip had been lots of fun so far. They boarded the chopper with the pilot and one other couple. The trip offered them a view of breathtaking scenery, and Michele found out that they would be able to stop along the way to take pictures.

After touring the countryside, the helicopter touched down at the rim of a volcano. It was dusk, and the pictures were going to be amazing! They even had some champagne to sip while they watched the sunset.
After capturing much of the ride on film, Michele sat her camera down while they sipped champagne and enjoyed the view. That's when she found out that Brent had one more surprise for her! He dropped to one knee, presented her with a beautiful diamond ring, and "popped the question!"

Amazingly, the couple who joined Michele and Brent on the ride were quick thinking enough to grab her camera, sitting to the side, and capture the entire event on film! She now has these pictures to remind her of that fantastic day in Hawaii. (And to make her friends sigh & wish for a setting like this for their own proposals!)

Michele and Brent plan to be married in June 2000. (What Brent doesn't realize, is that with a starter like this, he has his work cut out for him in keeping Michele surprised during married life!)
