Vital Stats: An archipelago
consisting of 700 islands, the Bahamas are located 50 miles off the coast
of Miami. With a population inhabiting 30 of the islands, the most
visited are New Providence, Nassau, Grand Bahama and Eleuthera.
The Bahamas boasts a year round
temperate climate which makes this sun-spot a dream destination for honeymooners.
Endless white sand beaches and crystal clear oceans make this an ideal
location for romantic seaside ceremonies. License requirements dictate
that both parties must be on the island for at least 24 hours and the application
needs to be filled with both bride and groom in attendance. Proof
of legal status to marry is necessary and should be brought with you. (proof
of previous divorce, etc.)
Entertainment on the Islands come
in every conceivable form, from Casinos to steel drum bands.. boredom is
not an option. Scuba diving and snorkling are a delightful diversion
amongst the Islands coral shores. Shopping is a highlight at either
the International Bazaar or the Port Lucayan Market in Freeport.
The gorgeous National Parks and hiking trails provide abundant picture
opportunities. A sporting mecca, the Bahamas boast first rate golf
courses and the chance to participate in a wide assortment of sports.
A smaller Island, Eleuthera is intimately romantic.
