Pop...Goes the Question!
Engaging  Stories from BridalZine

We loved Candice and Phil's story when we met them at a bridal show...
As a primary school teacher, Phil was aware that Candice enjoyed presenting many educational video's to her class.  Knowing that she was doing a presentation the next day with her students, Phil enlisted the assistance of one of Candice's colleagues.  He had her switch the video with the scheduled film and you guessed it, the class was treated to Phil in all of his celluloid glory.  Dapper in his tux, on bended knee he asked Candice to to be his bride, a moment later the real thing walked through the door to the applause of the class.  Since they were such an important part of her life, Candice was thrilled that her "kids" got to share in her special moment.
(Date set for June/2000)

Andi told us...
"Michael had the maitre'd at our favorite restaurant bring the ring box over in a covered dish. Everyone seemed to be in on it and mine weren't the only tears when Michael kneeled in front of me to pop the question. The restaurant gave us a very special vintage wine to save for our 25th anniversary. I loved the thought of that." (Date set for May/2000)

Wendy says...
"My mom totally freaked when Don and I showed up to let her see our matching diamonds. She was thrilled that I'd finally met someone to settle down with but I'm pretty sure that she expected that the diamond would be on my finger and not in my nose!  Don and I both throw pots and we just couldn't see doing things straight, it totally cracks us up watching our friends look expectantly at my finger when they hear our news. I love the diamond stud and I'm thinking of adding a few more piercings before the wedding."
(Date set for Oct/2000)

Laura and Mark...
As a daredevil by nature, Mark decided that he wanted  to "take the plunge" in more ways than one!  An avid bungee jumper, Mark enlisted the aid of the attraction staff to ensure that things indeed would go off WITH a hitch.  As she watched him jump, Laura was perplexed by the banner unraveling from the opposite side of the platform until she got a clear enough view to read: "Laura, I've fallen for you, Marry me and we'll take the plunge together."

Mira said...
"We didn't really get engaged. Our love just grew until it overflowed and I think it was apparent to everyone who knew us that we'd get married. It was my aunt who mentioned that august would be good because my grandmother is going to be visiting from Italy. Anthony agreed that august would be great and before we knew it, the plans grew up around us. He made giving me the ring really special. We were at dinner with my family and he asked my dad for my hand, when dad said yes, he knelt down beside my chair and asked me so quietly. He was blushing, but somehow he knew that there wasn't a better place to ask me. Both of our families were there and family is so important to both of us."
(date set for Aug/2000)

Heather and Jay.....
This was truly one of the most unique proposals that we heard about.  As a farmer in southern Ontario, Jay put in many hours getting his pilots license so that he could do his own crop dusting.  Just before harvest he took Heather up in his small utility plane and glided in close over the field.  Heather was amazed when she looked down and saw the words "Marry Me?" cut out of the crop.  She reports that her feet
haven't touched the ground since.
(date set for Dec/2000)

Noreen let us in on her secret...
"We've been engaged for 3 months but haven't told anyone because we're at school and we want our parents to be the first to know. My engagement ring will be one his mom has for him that was his grandmother's so for now he bought me one of those sleep machines that bring the sounds of the mountains into your room. See why I love him?" (date not set)

Margaret and Ben shared this...
As a struggling student, Ben was typically broke.  It took all semester but finally he had enough to purchase the ring he planned on presenting to Margaret prior to his departure to grad school.  Having no money left for a romantic night on the town, Ben decided to compromise. As was their custom the young couple settled into a relaxing evening of backgammon.  Margaret was shocked on her third roll when, with the dice out tumbled her engagement ring!  It just goes to show that you don't need a kings ransom to win the game of love.
(date set for Aug/2001)
